Inspired by forms of modern American Ranch Architecture, the maisonette duplex makes use of vertical and horizontal cedar cladding with featured schist stone. The centralized chimney and water tank storage compartment helps tie the two units together and appear as one rather than a traditional split duplex form. The transition of the house to hard landscape is reinforced by native and hedged planting. This ties into the surrounding neighborhood which includes an extensive green space network restored with comprehensive native planting.
